It’s a Trap!

I use this term facetiously because I believe that God will sometimes ‘set you up’ so to speak with a disguised sowing and reaping opportunity. Sometimes, when it seems like another train coming to hit you, it is really a trap for the enemy who thinks he has the edge.

I had a situation like this on a day when I was experiencing a major devastating crisis that left me in a place where I had to pack up my house and be out in forty-eight hours, with nowhere to go. On that very day, a friend called me needing to talk because she was having a very hard time and needed encouragement. I will be quite honest and confess that I wanted to tell her I had my own crisis to deal with. My thoughts went something like this, “God, are you kidding me”? The enemy had his own plans for that situation that involved me losing. God, on the other hand, had a disguised opportunity that was awaiting my obedience.

I put her on hold for a moment and said to God, “I will do this but I need you to come through for me”. We talked for an hour, after which she thanked me for my help. I got back to my work and trusted God for the outcome.

The moral of this story is that God will always take care of your business if you take care of his. I received a miracle answer that weekend that I am sure I would have missed if I had been self-minded. I sowed into someone else and God sowed into me. God has never failed to provide my needs when I put him first and I can confidently say this because my life has provided some severe testing ground. I have proven this to be true to the point where no one can ever convince me otherwise.

Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you, shaken down to make room for more. Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top! The measurement of your generosity becomes the measurement of your return. Luke 6:38 TPT

“So then, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?

“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Matthew 6: 32,33 TPT
