Bringing God on the Scene

Generosity brings prosperity, but withholding from charity brings poverty. Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor. Proverbs 11:24,25 TPT

A few years ago, I was in the middle of a huge crisis that involved being evicted from my home. I was given exactly two days and we had nowhere to go. While frantically packing what I could in that small window of time (and praying intensely) a friend of mine called in tears needing a shoulder and encouragement.

To be truthful, I wanted to say that I had a crisis of my own and could not talk at that time. I put her on hold for a moment and sent up a quick prayer. Basically, I said to God, “I will be there for her, but I need you to come through for me”. With my faith in God, I talked to her for an hour until she felt better and then went back to packing.

The next day was Sunday. Would I go to church or use that time to continue my work? Did I believe God would come through? Well, we all went to church, and thank God we did. There was a visiting speaker from our community that day and our pastor mentioned our dilemma. As it turned out, this man owned real estate and had a place we could rent right away for a reasonable price. I nearly danced for joy right there.

I learned a big lesson that day about God’s faithfulness when you take care of His business. Sowing seed into and caring for others is big with God. We will always reap a harvest. Galatians 5:13 tells us that we become free by serving others. I know this personally now. Love always wins.

Other scriptures to consider,

Hebrews 6:10 TPT

For God, the Faithful One, is not unfair. How can he forget the beautiful work you have done for him? He remembers the love you demonstrate as you continually serve his beloved ones for the glory of his name.

Matthew 25:40 NLT

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

We all come across opportunities every day to care for someone else. Next time one pops up, remember God’s promise to look after your business and ask Him to. I now look for them because I love it when God gets in my stuff. He does a much better job than I ever could.

I would like to share a poem written by a very dear friend, Gloria. I think It speaks for those searching for the hand of God as they struggle through life's difficulties. Perhaps this brings someone to mind?

I Cry Alone

I am who I am I cannot change

I’ve been pushed aside again and again

I take a step forward for all to see

Then the floor gives way beneath my feet

As I struggle for strength, I look above

God fills my heart with His precious love

As time continues to slip on by

He soothes my soul of the tears I cry

Blessings to you, Marion
