God’s Favor Magnet
Have you ever really thought about that phrase, the favor of God? It is a powerful, life-changing fact of the Christian life that far too many of us do not fully walk in. Two particular verses that talk about God’s favor for us are Psalm 5:12, He will surround me with favor like a shield, and Proverbs 14:9, Among the righteous (that’s you) there is favor. To fully understand this we need to look up the definition of the word God used. It is Strong’s 7522 and means to demonstrate delight with, acceptance, good pleasure, set affection upon, approve of, enjoy, to pardon, and reconcile with. God does not just feel this way towards us, he wants to actively demonstrate it in his goodness surrounding us. Like anything in His word, you need to believe this and expect it to release it in your life.
I have spoken previously about holding your head up and walking as though you were His favorite. Religion and tradition get very uptight about this word but it simply means to be the recipient of His favor. I will say it again and again, there is no one God loves more than you. When you receive this revelation in your spirit it will ease all your anxiety and fears. You will be at peace because you will be immersed in His immeasurable love for you. God’s favor around you is a firewall that the enemy cannot penetrate. I describe it as living like you have a secret. That secret is the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91:1). When you know how much God loves you, nothing can knock you down and out. You will know that the goodness and favor of God are about to crash in on the circumstance. I love this quote.
“Victory is not always in the absence of a trial, but in its powerlessness to affect you.”
I think I will just sit with Jesus in heavenly places and laugh.
